Welcome to the Pontiac Players Theatre Website.

As Music and Theatre Director at Camp Pontiac, I produced and directed twenty-seven wonderful shows between 1998 and 2006, watching as young cast members grew and matured as performers and as people, and as the program grew and developed into one of the premier Theatre Arts programs among all-around co-ed sleepaway camps in the Northeast. The construction of the new Pontiac Playhouse for the summer of 2005 promises even greater things on the horizon.

The Pontiac Theatre Program involves as many as 150 campers and staff each summer, producing three musical shows in a short five- to six-week time span. Each of the age-group divisions in camp has the opportunity to audition and perform in one show (sometimes two), and campers of all ages can work on the technical crew of all three shows.  Staff members have also occasionally participated in theatre productions in both cast and crew.

Click on the plaque images below for a review of each show, along with photos and screen shots from several of them. The site is still under construction; more reviews and screen shots will be added soon. Past and present cast members, campers and staff who would like to share their memories of the shows can
click here to sign the guestbook. Click here to view the guestbook.

Thanks and enjoy the show!

Pontiac Players Theatre is an educational activity program at Camp Pontiac, a private summer sleep-away camp for children ages 7-16, and is a component of the overall camp activity program. Each show was presented one time only to a private audience of campers and staff, performed on camp property by campers and staff, and neither exhibited nor advertised to the public.
